Marine Corps Marathon | Sunday, October 27 | Washington, D.C.
Join my dad in his journey to participate in the 2014 Marine Corps Marathon as a charity partner for the Washington Humane Society. Committed to helping homeless animals in and around the District, he’s excited to run his first marathon, and for a great cause. We’d certainly appreciate your support in helping to meet his goal of $1,000 for WHS. Head on over to the fundraising page here!
Why the Washington Humane Society?
- Through services/programs WHS touches the lives of more than 43,000 animals every year
- WHS Field Officers responded to 14,130 calls for help in 2013
- WHS provided low-cost spay/neuter services to more than 7,000 cats and dogs in 2013

Wishing you a Happy Halloween – filled with black (and white) cats and plenty of treats!
Jozy and I are big fans of the entire Buffalo BLUE product line, especially the treats! However, I’m not such a fan of the plastic bag they come in. Looking to jazz up your pet’s treat jar? Download the template below and get started!
what you’ll need
- glass jar
- printer/ paper
- spray adhesive
Once you print out the treat label – simply cut it out and use spray adhesive to glue it to your air tight jar. And that’s it. Now it’s time to fill it up. Easy right?!
Happy Easter! Today we are featuring one of our favorite friends, Kiba Bunny. Kiba, a senior bunny, was adopted from the Washington Humane Society last August and is such a cutie. Kiba has adjusted well and is loving his new (pampered) life with mom Kate.
While bunnies make great pets, it’s important to remember they are a long-term commitment, similar to a cat or dog. Think adopting a bunny is right for you? Check out WHS’s bunny care tips and questions to answer before adopting. Also, be sure to follow Kiba for updates and ADORABLE bunny pics on twitter @KibaBunny.
Adorable Adoptable: Daisy, available at the Washington Humane Society Georgia Avenue Shelter.
